Mad Art Gallery welcomes Q Fest as they present the Five Minute Film Festival. This will be a fun evening of queer film shorts and burlesque acts benefiting Q Fest, St. Louis' Lesbian Gay Bi Transgender Film Festival. Doors open at 7:30 and the show begins at 8:00. A suggested donation of $5 goes to Q Fest. Cash bar is available. If you would like to submit your short film that is both queer and humorous, send it to Q Fest by November 17 on DVD, care of LGBT Community Center of Metropolitan St. Louis, P.O. Box 19071, St. Louis, MO 63118-9071. Q Fest, St. Louis' LGBTQ Film Festival, will have its public debut in March of 2008. This initial event is intended as a fundraiser, social networking opportunity, and awareness builder for the organization. Members of Out & Urban, The Center, and Cinema St. Louis are working hard to create a film festival that addresses issues of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, and queer communities in the St. Louis area. This new event will fill the void left when SLILAG (St. Louis International Lesbian and Gay Film Festival) ended its ambitious annual festival after the 1999 season.
