Free Form Film Festival Holiday Party

Friday, December 28

6 pm to 11 pm

Mad Art Gallery is proud to present the Free Form Film Festival Holiday Party. If you haven't attended our past Free Form Film events, this is your chance to partake in the found footage experience. We will be showing vintage Christmas clips from the Lost Media Archive. These priceless snippets provide the viewer with a film experience unlike any other.

We will also be screening the documentary Lay Down Tracks directed by Brigid McCaffrey and Daniel Lombardi. These two young filmmakers went on the road with a 16 mm Bolex and a cassette recorder to produce a remarkable film that tells the stories of five American nomads: a trucker, a carnival worker, a railroad executive, a chimney sweep who is also a surfer, and a nun who pilots a riverboat. In the context of the transient work culture, Lay Down Tracks constructs griping portraits of these workers while considering the tenuous relationship between aspirations and economic necessity. Lay Down Tracks takes the viewer into an alternate American dream.

The evening will also feature live music. A suggested donation of $5 goes to helping the Free Form Film Festival's mission of bringing outsider film to audiences across the nation.
