Mad Art Gallery is proud to welcome Venus Envy on Friday, March 7, 2008. Venus Envy is an all-female art event showcasing painting, sculpture, installations, collage, and music. This year's exhibition is curated by Jackie Lewis-Harris, the director of the Center of Human Origin and Cultural Diversity at University of Missouri St. Louis. Ms. Lewis-Harris has been involved in the visual arts as both an artist and consultant. She has curated many exhibits at the St. Louis Art Museum and St. Louis Artists' Guild. In addition to many talented local artists, Venus Envy 2008 features work from national artists Joyce Owens, Mary Dritschel, and Jewel Castro. An opening reception for the exhibit will be on Friday, March 7, 2008, from 8:00 p.m. until 12 midnight. Admission is $5 at the door. There will be live music throughout the evening. Cash bar available.

Mad Art Gallery is proud to present Famous Fictional featuring portraits from comics, television and movies. Work will include paintings, illustrations, and sculptures of some of the most famous, or infamous, characters from comics, television, and movies. This exhibit opens on January 4, 2008, and runs through January 28, 2008.
Famous Fictional includes work from Brian Hurtt, Matt Kindt, Luby, Dan Zettwoch, Jason Robards, Anchovy, Dan Wilson, Brian Yap, Nathan Poetzscher, Jon Reed, Sacha Mardou, Sharlene Kindt, Matt Reedy, Jenny Cimino, Ron Weaver and more.

Mad Art Gallery proudly presents By The Numbers, new works by YOU, an homage to the paint by number phenomenon that introduced art to millions of Americans who had never before held a paintbrush. We are installing several large-scale paint by number canvases and inviting you to come make the art. Bring your painting smock. We will supply the paint, brushes and an evening of fun and creativity. Every man's a Rembrandt on Friday, November 2, 2007, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Mad Art Gallery.

The 14th biennial Contemporary Women Artist Exhibition sponsored by the St. Louis Chapter of the Women's Caucus for Art. This exhibit runs from September 7 to 29 with a free opening reception on Friday, September 7 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Funding in part provided by the Missouri Arts Council.

Cathy Breslaw's work experiments with dissimilar manufactured materials, manipulating them in unfamiliar combinations. Kerry Zimmerman shoots photographs with a Holga, producing images that mirror her experiences as a newcomer to St. Louis.

Sarah Frost's work examines our culture through the collection of its remains. Angela Malchionno's work incorporates printmaking and drawing into sculptural environments that often invite viewer participation.
